Wearing white jeans is something I haven’t shied away from and I don’t think you should either. I have tried several brands of white jeans in my years as a personal stylist. I’ve tried budget friendly brands all the way to designer jeans. I’ve learned that the fit and quality of the fabric is what you need to focus on.
White Jeans By Body Type Must Haves
- fit: discover your body type here and read below which fit is best for you
- fabric: a little stretch is good but too much is bad
- finish: it’s all in the details, let your style personality show with fun details, I’ll show you below
I’m breaking it down white jeans by body type so you can have the perfect fit for you. I’ve been a fan of NYDJ jeans for quite a while now so when they asked me to share white jeans by body type, I jumped at the chance. I have been wearing this pair of skinny jeans for months now and I just can’t say enough good things about it! You can’t see through them, they fit me like a glove, they don’t gape at the back and I always feel confident in them. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen me where them several times.
The hourglass body type: shoulder and hip measurements align with a very defined waist. For Melissa’s look, I paired her with the Marilyn Straight Jean. I like this jean for the hourglass body type because the leg goes straight down the body. The hourglass body type has natural beautiful curves and I don’t want to over accentuate that or make her look bottom heavy at the ankle. The Marilyn Straight leg is compliments her body type beautifully. I paired her with the off the shoulder top because it brings balance among her entire body and shows off those beautiful shoulders.
The rectangle body type: shoulder, waist and hip all align. I put Jacqueline in the Alina Ankle with Applique and this citrus print pintuck pleated blouse. I had her tuck in the shirt to give her a waist. How cute are these pants?!?!?!? I love how NYDJ added this detail to the bottom of the jean. It totally dresses up the jean and when you pair it with casual pieces it still has a pop to the outfit. The goal with the rectangle body type is to give her the illusion of curves. Add a belt to really accentuate a waist.
The triangle body type: the shoulders and waist measure smaller than the hips. How fun are these Billie Bootcut Fringe jeans? I believe every triangle body type needs a pair of bootcut jeans and I love that NYDJ makes a fun pair of white bootcut ones! The reason every triangle needs a pair of bootcut is because the cut looks so great on them. It falls straight down from the hip and doesn’t flare out. I picked this off the shoulder martinique palms blue because it gives the triangle body type harmony with bringing emphasis to the shoulders.
The inverted triangle: shoulders measure wider than the waist and hips. Sarah is wearing the ankle trouser. These white pants are perfect for work or play! The trouser pant is perfect for the inverted triangle body type because the narrow pant let helps elongates the body and draws the eye to the amazing legs inverted triangles have. I picked out this black top with cutouts to minimize the broader shoulders. She’s able to stay on trend with this cute cold shoulder top!
