Happy November!!! I’m so excited for this time of year. Entertaining is one of my favorite things to do! Every year we host a Friendsgiving dinner (a Thanksgiving dinner with friends). We do it pot luck style. I set the scene, decorate the house and provide the wine. This year we are toasting the holidays with my favorite wine, Decoy Wines!

Serious Wine Within Reach
I love having a selection of wine and Decoy Wines let me have serious wine within reach. For this year’s Friendsgiving I picked one of my husband’s favorite wines and one of mine. He enjoys a good Pinot Noir and I enjoy a nice cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc. These two will also pair perfectly with all the yummy food our friends will bring. Decoy also has Merlot, check out my post about it here, it’s also a Loyd house favorite!
Setting the Table
Decorating for the party is why I throw parties and love entertaining. The anticipation of everyone showing up is so fun! I have a pantry full of decorations. For this year’s tablescape, I went a little non traditional and I LOVE it! I love the color pink, as you know but I also love light blue. I grabbed one of my white holiday runners, folded it in half and got to work.
I found the cutest suede pumpkins in 4 different colors: mint, white, gray and black. I cut out a little tag, wrote names on it and tied them around the stem with cute gingham ribbon. I also used the extra pumpkins in the center of the table to tie in the place settings. For the centerpiece, I pulled out one of my favorite cake stands and set a white velvet pumpkin on it. I flanked it with two jars. To bring the friend vibe full circle, I found this friends wood cut out sign at Target, also where I got most of the other decor.
Having fresh flowers or greenery helps have the table come alive. I loved the idea of a simple tablescape and the greenery fit perfectly while letting the pumpkins take the focus. A white friends sign completed my Friendsgiving tablescape.
Having friends to share the holidays with is such a blessing! Having serious wines within reach to spoil them with is so nice! I set up a bar cart so they could easily grab their glass of red or white and then come back for refills! Decorating the shelves above the bar cart was fun! I love adding little details to my parties and these shelves make it easy to display things on.
Have you hosted or been to a Friendsgiving? If you haven’t, you are missing out. They are so fun! We usually do ours a couple weeks before Thanksgiving because most of us are traveling or hosting family. Whether you host or attend, remember to grab your favorite Decoy Wine and be ready to toast the holidays in style!
