My sweet friend Sarah from Bug and Brookie always wanted to go to a favorite things party. So we decided instead of waiting to be invited to one, we would throw one ourselves! What is a favorite things party, you ask? It’s a fun get together with some of your best ladies. When Sarah and I were planning, we knew we wanted to keep the party intimate. We wanted to keep it small because it would allow us to focus on each other rather than how the party was flowing. It was so nice to be able to dive deeper into life with these ladies. Each lady brought their favorite thing for each of the other ladies. We had 8 ladies, so each guest brought 7 gifts. The gift is the same thing for each person. Here is how to throw a favorite things party.
favorite things party decor
Sarah was so gracious to host the party and we pulled our decor together to make this beautiful light holiday tablescape. We knew we wanted it girly but simple. The pink napkins gave the table just the pop of color it needed. My favorite part of the table is all the pops of green. It helped bring the holidays to life!
We created a little cute little place setting with greenery, a little ornament, a wooden tag all tied together with black & white twine. We alternated with gold and pink ornaments.
Our Favorite Things Party wouldn’t be complete without a little champagne! Don’t worry, I had a mini sparkling cider in my glass 😉
How cute are these little trees?!?!?!?! They made the perfect addition to our favorite things party table. I love how they add a little bit of glitz but are tiny. We found these at the dollar spot at Target.
One way to make your favorite things party easier is to set up early. Sarah and I set this up the morning of the party and I’m so glad we did! It freed up time for us to fret about the food and last minute things before the other ladies arrived.
Favorite Things Party Menu
The menu was easy and not over thought. Sarah and I agreed that the focus of the party would be the ladies and not necessarily the food. We kept it simple with appetizers, desserts and drinks. You can switch it up and do a dinner if you want.
I did make these cranberry orange meatballs and they were a HIT!!! The bonus, they were so easy!
Favorite things party gifts
So are you wondering what kind of gifts to give? Don’t worry, I’m sharing our ideas with you. We kept the budget to $10 per gift. It helped us get creative. We also asked the ladies to bring something that made their life easier or more enjoyable. It was so fun to see what people brought. Here are some of the items:
This was my gift! I found these earrings for $9.60 at the outlet on Veteran’s Day weekend. You can find similar ones on KateSpade.com. Here are some of the other gifts…
My friend Mindy from Mindy Renee Blog, brought this cute cheese spread. It was perfect for the family that I was having over later that weekend. I poured the fig spread over cheese and added some crackers to the plate… and viola! The appetizer was ready!
Are these gifts not amazing!!! I loved hearing why each woman gifted these and how they loved the items. It was a fun way to get to know each other better!
