I am excited to announce that I am a guest participant in the One Room Challenge put on by Calling It Home’s Linda Weinstein. I will be doing my new home office! We just completed construction on this new space a couple weeks ago and I can’t wait to get to be the space where I get to dream and create. Here are some before and after photos of the space. We turned an upstairs den into a bedroom. I am excited to show you all the fun things I have planned over the next 6 weeks. Stay tuned every Thursday for how it’s progress. Follow the One Room Challenge with their featured designers and guest participants here each week.
Here is the before photos of the room before we closed it in. I wish I had thought to get a couple more but I didn’t. When you use to come up the stairs there was a little landing and you could go right or left. Now you can only go left. I’m actually loving having it closed off because now I have a huge wall to decorate as you come up the stairs.
We had carpet and the walls were a light gray color. We had no light fixture in the space, only a white fan.
After photos!!! The team that transformed this room was absolutely amazing! They worked so hard over a 4 day period and left this space beautiful and perfect!
We added hard wood floors to the space. The playroom is right outside this room and also has dark hard wood floors. I like how it flows naturally now.
Here is the view from the door to the space. I feel like this room was always meant to be here and will serve a better purpose for our family. I had a different home office but with baby girl #3 on the way we decided to give her that room since its a nice quiet space and I get to enjoy having this new space right off the playroom. I can keep an eye on my girls easily while they play and I create.
By far my favorite thing about this space is this grid wall! I just love the statement it makes and I can already envision so many fun pictures taken in front of it.
I am looking forward to making this space mine and sharing it with you. Not only will this be my home office but it will be a nice little space where I can retreat to when I need a little alone time or place to think.
