Doesn’t Tana’s Vodka Cranberry Raspberry Cocktail look delicious? I’ll be making it soon! Today I’m sharing my Healthy Blood Orange Margarita Recipe with you just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Citrus Season is here!!! I love the smell of fresh citrus especially when I’m juicing it for a drink. We have fresh fruit farm trees around our city and Tana from Your Marketing BFF asked me to go pick some with her. Of course I said yes! I knew from the moment I found out they had blood oranges that I would make a margarita. It’s my favorite flavored margarita! Here is my healthy blood orange margarita recipe! Just in time for Valentine’s Day and maybe a date night in!
I’m sure you’re asking what makes this yummy margarita healthy? I use fresh fruit juices and a simple syrup made from honey instead of sugar. I like to tell myself this blood orange margarita has healing powers! A couple of my favorite restaurants have a blood orange margarita but since I don’t get out much anymore I wanted to make one at home. We are staying in this year for Valentine’s Day so I will be making this healthy blood orange margarita for us!
Another trick I’m going to share with you is to pre-juice your blood oranges and limes. I do this because when I want a healthy blood orange margarita at the end of a long day I never want to take the time to juice them. The fresh juice usually lasts me at least a week.
Another one of my tricks is to freeze half of the blood orange juice if I’ve juiced a lot. This way I can have fresh healthy blood orange margarita’s in the future!
How pretty are these blood oranges? The ones we picked at the farm weren’t this red. I forgot to keep some for garnish when I was juicing so I grabbed these at Sprouts.
