It’s finally October!!!! I love this time of year. I feel like October really sets off holiday seasons. Every year I love to do things for my girls to create a magical childhood. Childhood goes by so quickly and creating these fun memories while we can is so important to me. Last year we kicked off the season with a little Boo Breakfast and this year we added to that tradition by doing Halloween Door Decor!
When I was little my mom hung small stockings on our door for the Christmas season and I remember enjoying that. I was inspired to start decorating my girls doors but instead of starting at Christmas I decided to start at Halloween. Why not make every holiday fun and exciting?
I enlisted my oldest daughters help because she LOVES to do crafts, art and create. She is constantly making something new everyday and she so enjoyed making one of these for her and baby sisters room.

Halloween Door Decor Supply List
- happy halloween banner- I found these at my local Joann Fabrics store near the checkout for $1.50 each.
- halloween fabric- the black with orange dots from Joann Fabrics too
- pumpkin doilies- these came from Goodwill! I got 32 doilies for $1
- black thin ribbon- had on hand but you can grab it at Joann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby or Michaels
- black & white twine- have had for years
- pinking shears
I took the twine and strung it through the holes that were already in the doilies. I decided to add a little black bow on each pumpkin to give it a girly aspect. I then cut little strips of fabric with the pinking shears. I use pinking shears so the fabric doesn’t fray and tied 3 strips between the pumpkins. Lastly I hung them on the girls doors with mini command hooks and they worked perfectly. I’ll be leaving them on the door because I’m already planning more decorations for their doors this holiday season!
We had so much fun making and hanging these sweet door signs! She loved it so much she asked what craft was next, but this mama was ready for a rest! How cute is she? I know I’m partial!
If you’re wondering what a Boo Breakfast is and how you can do one for your littles that will be coming to the blog next week! Stay tuned!
