I can’t believe Gennady (pronounced Jenn-a-dee) turned one a few months back! My oldest daughter gave Gennady the nick name Flower Baby when she was in my belly because we weren’t sharing her name until she was born. So it was easy to decide on the theme of her first birthday. Here is her floral first birthday party!
Gennady’s birthday was in the Spring so it was easy to find floral decor! I really didn’t get in the party planning mood until a couple weeks before her party. The first year was paved with a lot of doctor’s and hospital visits. So to say I was mentally exhausted may be an understatement but I wanted Gennady to have a nice party just like Olivia had. I had to get my head in the game!
Floral First Birthday Party Decor
I love having every detail accounted for and making parties look & feel magical! For this floral first birthday party, flowers were a must! I found a kit at Joann Fabric’s to make these tissue paper flowers. You don’t have to have a kit to make these, here is a diy I like.
We did the floral first birthday party in our backyard. I sprinkled flowers all over. I wrapped the pillars in floral garland and attached floral garland to our pool fence. I set up a bubble station for the kids to play with and set out a slide and other backyard toys for them to play with.
I found these little paintable flower pots at Target in their Dollar Spot section and I knew they would make the perfect party favor! I attached a little sign that says “I’m growing up!” If you ever need cute hand-lettered items, check out my girl Teagan, from Present & Pantry. She made all the signs and emailed them over via JPEG. It was so easy to print out at home and they added that extra special touch!
And because the first year came with a few trials, I decided to celebrate making it through it with a little bubbly bar! I had a couple bottles of champagne chilled and let the adults choose from orange or mango juice to add in.
Floral First Birthday Party Food
Our little girl just loves a piece of pizza so it was an easy decision on what to serve for lunch! Pizza is so easy it is to serve!!!!
I made a little smash cake for her to have fun with and all the guest got cute little cupcakes.
I decorated the high chair we could get some cute pictures of her trying cake for the first time!
How cute are these? I found cupcake holders that are little pots!!
