I love celebrating with my kids but I can’t break the bank every holiday. This Halloween my daughter asked to have some friends over for a movie viewing of The Great Charlie Brown Pumpkin and some more Halloween fun! Today I’m sharing my budget friendly kids halloween party with you!
budget friendly kids halloween party
Whenever I throw a kids party I think about what activities will keep them busy and that they will love doing! I’ve thrown a lot of kids parties in my 5 years of being a mom and I’ve learned the hard way to keep them busy or they will keep themselves busy. And I want them staying off my couch and out of my bedroom.
For this my budget friendly kids halloween party my oldest daughter wanted to help plan the festivities. She had some good ideas too! We decided on watching The Great Charlie Brown Pumpkin. Every movie night needs popcorn! I found a huge bag of popcorn and some cute little cups for them to scoop the popcorn up with. The cups are at Walmart for 4 for $1. I bought 3 sets.
After the movie, we will be decorating cookies. I love seeing their little imagination at work and the kids get so excited to eat what they have created. I don’t have time to slay away in the kitchen baking cookies and getting cute things to decorate them with. You can simplify things by buying a pre-made kit for $8! It comes with 16 cookies, icing and sprinkles. Great trade off if you ask me, less time in the kitchen and the kids still get to have fun.
The last thing we will do is bust open a bat piñata! I found this cute bat piñata for $12.88 at Walmart. I was going to buy a pumpkin online but found this cutie when I was shopping for decorations. Filling it with candy only isn’t my thing. I plan to fill it with some candy and lots of halloween trinkets. Slime, bubbles, pencils, and bouncing balls will all be a hit!
Budget Friendly Kids Halloween Party Decor
For the decor I like to keep it budget friendly. First I search my pantry for items that I can use. Last year I bought black cake stands and I received a bunch of white platters from our wedding registry so I pull those out for every event. The black cake stands are perfect for halloween and the white platters balance the black table cloth.
I found cute banners and wall hangings at Walmart for $1 & $3. The black and green poofs were also only $1 each. The tablecloth, plates & napkins were also only $1. I have had a floor length white tablecloth for a few years now and I want to keep it nice. Buying a themed plastic tablecloth is a cost effective item and when the party is over it helps for easy clean up. I don’t care what’s been spilled on it, if it’s been torn or something else happened because it served its purpose: protect the nice tablecloth 🙂
One of my favorite decor items are these glittery pumpkin confetti pieces!!! How cute are they? I also love how they tie in the glitter Halloween banner above the table.
I had a little helper when I was putting together this party! Isn’t she a cutie!!!
I hope you are inspired to throw your own budget friendly kids halloween party! Share your parties with me in the comments below and feel free to ask me any questions.
